We got some really great news when local lads Martin & James
told us they have signed with Universal Reacords Germany. If you have
not heard the guys, then check them out now as they are going to be massive.
Well done lads.
We are proud to announce the first full headline show with us for one of our fav
acts, Maeve O'Boyle. Maeve has
been a regular with us since she was 15 and we have watched her with much pride as she
has developed into a real star. The gig on the 13th June is linked up with the
release of her debut album on Linn Records. Produced by Callum Malcolm (The Blue Nile),
it is a cracker. This girl is going to be a huge star.
Regular performers with us The Mercurymen,
will be playing a Glasgow date at Nice & Sleazy on the 22nd March. Bit of a strange
venue for the guys, but get along and show your support.
We have just launched an online service for tickets for our gigs. It is totally secure and
provided by www.wegottickets.co.uk.
Just look for the buy tickets button on the website next to the artists name.
We welcome back The Mercurymen for what is looking like being a sell out show. The
guys have been touring with Deacon Blue, Level 42 and Sinead O'Connor and have been winning
fans up and down the country. We have had to move the gig into the big room after all
tickets for the Listening Room sold out, so don't miss out on the band that will be the
name on everybodies lips in 2009. Support for the show comes from Maeve O'Boyle and Rico Franchi.
Keep an eye out for the return of our Garfields indie club nights. Our Garfields nights are
the most popular indie club nights in central Scotland. Due to other commitments it has been some
times since the last one, so we can't wait to get you all back on the dance floor.
We are pleased to announce that we have booked former Plimsouls and The Nerves
troubador Peter Case. Quite simply, Peter is an amazing live performer. We can't tell you
how much we are looking forward to this gig. If you have seen or heard Peter before, then we know
you will be at the show. If you have not heard or seen Peter before, then do yourself a favour
and see this guy. You can thank us later.
Local alt folk rockers The Beggar's Lake will be launching their debut album with us
on September 26th. Mud, Blood & Mercy is an outstanding piece of work. Tickets are on
sale now.
We have teamed up with the Airdrie & Coatbridge Advertiser to bring you a regular music column
which features interviews and artical focusing on local bands and musicians. We would like to thank
Gordon Robertson for instigating this and for all his help.
We now hold the majority of our of our shows at the Georgian Hotel. We use The Listening
Room for our acoustic gigs. It is an amazing room with outstanding acoustics. The room holds
50 people seated and is candle lit, making for an amazing atmosphere. It really is a very
special room.
For full band gigs we use The Big Room. The Big Room holds up to 250 people and has a great
sound and a late licence.
For our open mic nights we use the main bar. A really cosy and friendly affair.
